Abstract: 2009年4月から,ボランティア活動から学ぶサービス・ラーニング科目を「総合科目Ⅲ 生活科学論」としてwebを使用して学部1・2年生に開講した。この科目は2002年より,ボランティア活動をしている学生の学習 支援として研究的に開発された。科目のねらいは,web基盤の学習プログラムで学生がボランティアに参加する ための基礎知識を得て活動に参加し,参加した活動経験を振り返り,リフレクション記録を作成することで,社 会の一月としての自覚と社会貢献性の重要性の学びを支援することであった。本稿では本科目での初年度の教 育実践を報告する。
Abstract-Alternative: This article describes our first year's educational activity of a new course: "Integrated learning-Ⅲ:Science for Daily Living", using web-based service-learning that commenced April 2009 for freshmen and sophomore students. It was developed through action research in 2002. The course aims were:(1)introduce freshmen to basic understanding of volunteering in health and community; (2)support learning through volunteer activity experiences ; and (3) strengthen awareness of social responsibility as a communiity member. While 34 students registered, only 18(53%) completed this course. The steps of learning included : e-learning on health volunteers and sending learning-logs ; participating in volunteers activities; sending a daily log about volunteer activities and meeting with faculty. The total of 130 student-outcome daily logs were submitted. Students' evaluated their satisfaction of this subject on average as 8.5 point with 10-point scale(1 lowest, 10 highest). Students evaluated the subject using 4-point Likert scale (4,highest). The highly items evaluated were: obtained "new perspectives" (M=3.92), and "learning motivation" (M=3.92). The items evaluated poorly were:"use of educational resource"(M=3.15) and "teaching methods"(Mean=3.33). Although students completing the course were satisfied, approximately half of registered students did not complete the course. Further improvement of this course is needed in order to increase the completion rate and to enable and support students becoming good citizen working for their own community.
